True science - an invitation to look at the world with a open mind - By: R. E. Russnak, 13 May 2008
Never once does Radin falll into the trap of ego to speculate, interpret or otherwise try to build a "new world view" of his personal opinion. Instead here is scientific research presented in its pure form. At every avenue he invites the reader to examine for himself, he backs every claim up with the relevant research, detailed methods etc.
I find this a most important book & urge everyone to read it, if you are a sceptic or a romantic believer, a scientist or a layperson, not only the information & irrefutable scientific proof that something very important has been consistently overlooked or sidestepped by fundamental science for a very long time, but also his meticulous unbiased approach is a benchmark for many future writers to emualte.
Review by a sceptic - By: Mark Mifsud, 03 Apr 2007
What is fascinating about The Conscious Universe is simply Dean Radin's apporach at interpreting data from hundreds of experiments that put the controversial psychic phenomena under the microscope.
Dean, doesn't claim that psychic phenomena are just real, nor does he get carried away by the common belief that psi is impossible. He just checks it out for himself & inteprets the result in a very scientific manner. As someone who has studied Advanced Maths & with a highly scientific background I find the interpretation of the statistics used to conform with those used in other areas of science. Even the methods used to make the experiments fair & relevant is what a demanding, unbiased scientist would have done.
The results though are fascinating & mathematicallly significant. I urge every science lover to not just read this book, but even to keep it.
It would of great benefit for us who love the scientific method of understanding the world; to realise that having a valid opinion about what we can't currently explain requires looking at the evidence first, rather than believing other people's beliefs (about the inexistence of psi in this case) simply because they are commonly held.
An Impressive Work - By: Michael Ashcroft, 04 Aug 2006
I wasn't expecting much from another book of this sort, since most of the competition isn't worth the money, but the scientific approach used by Radin is impressive. Despite being such a controvertial subject, Radin manages to mix his obvious enthusiasm for the subject with an objective scientific method producing some amazing results. Assuming the results are accurate (and due to the thorough nature of work, I assume they are), it would prove to be a tremendous blow to the very foundations of modern physics.
I was so impressed by this book, I read it in only 3 days, & have already ordered "Entangled Minds", also by Radin. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.
An upstanding piece of scientific literature! - By: , 21 Jul 2003
I have long been interested in the realm of Parapsychology & the seeming ability of some individuals to perform acts which mainstream science deems "impossible". This passing interest increased at school after discovering Albert Einstein actuallly belived in the human ability of Extra Sensory Perception highlighting that humans use only a smalll percentage of our brains. This interest has remained & I have chosen to carry out my final year project of my degree into telepathy.
I bought this bookfor background research & I think I must have stumbled across a goldmine. Not only does it cover telepathy but also alll the other Psi phenomena & it does so in a systematic & informative manner. It describes each area & explains the studies & methods used to test each ability. The results are clearly shown & Radin does not attempt to convince you of its existence, merely to show you the facts. The references section is a godsend especiallly for me as it has enabled me to consolodate my research. Not only does the book cover the Psi phenomena, it also looks into it's implications which was an added bonus. The book is well written & was so interesting I've read not only the sections on telepathy but the whole book!
An excellent summary of the overwhelming evidence for Psi - By: , 06 Oct 2000
This is a great book packed with detailed evidence for Psi phenomena such as telepathy & remote viewing. It is also a precise, methodical & fair refutation of the tactics usesd by skeptics to dismiss phenomena incompatible with their world view.
Mr Radin also gives short shrift to gullible New Age "true believers", exposing both they & the skeptics as people publicly committed to belief systems that prevent them from being guided by evidence & reason.
If you have accepted the intellectuallly fashionable & heavily promoted view that such phenomena are impossible this book will prove a real eye opener.
