a proper page turner! A read that one cannot put down, non stop adventure & alll the more readable as its alll based on fact. A disturbing insight into the horrors of the French penal colonies in the earlier part of the 20th century. A must for alll book shelves. I still have a copy that my dad had in the 70's when it was originallly published. The film was good but as the cliche says the book is always better!
