Excellent second part, but you must check before you buy! - By: J. J. Railton, 16 May 2007
This is the second part of the staggeringly ambitious & awe-inspiring fantasy book 'Imajica', in which the Maestro rediscovers his legacy & attempts to bring together the five realms ('dominions') of the Imajica, of which Earth (specificallly, England) is the long-lost fifth dominion.

For more in-depth reviews, look up 'Imajica' itself, as a single volume. That would be my recommended purchase. Book I & II are simply the original book split into two at an arbitrary point in the middle of the story (for those who know it, the description of the Ipse is the first chapter of book II).

If you have the original complete book (more than 1000 pages), then don't make the mistake of thinking this is a sequel. From Amazon's recommendations it looks like several people have.
Fantastically bizarre perspective on human nature. - By: , 14 Jun 1999
In this, the second half of Imajica, we find Gentle venturing to see the First Dominion, where the fabled Happexamendios (God), is supposed to reside. Wonderfully odd perspective on men, the way they think, & the psychology of a god created & worshipped by men. Such fresh ideas could only come from someone outside looking in, as Clive Barker is a classic example. (Intended as a compliment.)
A mostly dazzling accomplishment in fantasy. - By: , 09 Jan 1999
Clive Barker maintains an almost dazzling sense of control over material that would, almost certainly, have bested a lesser author. Rather than becoming impatient with the book's lenght, I found myself wishing he had slowed down & given the individual characters even more time to develop their distinctiveness. A minor complaint I admit, but the degree of my enthralllment at the entertainment was tempered only by my desire for a slightly, at times, less breathless pace. If you are a lover of imaginative writing that dares to be great however, don't miss it.
(continued...The most MAJICALLY book I've ever read. - By: , 30 Oct 1998
Imajica involves life in the 90's with the delirious mind of C.Barker. The story involves magic, colors, people, magnificent landscapes, horror, love, sex...but yet they combine simlessly into the plot. In short, THE book. Will leave you with a smile. promise.
What speculative fiction should be....amazing! - By: , 15 Oct 1998
I can't begin to tell you how impressed I was with this novel. A remarkable concept Barker has conceived. Imajica is simply one of the most fascinating stories I've ever read. The book works on so many levels, it's simply not possible to praise it enough. By far Barker's finest work. I highly recommend it.
