Jane Grigson recommended this in her Fish book. It's still in Alan Davidson's last reference book - The Oxford/Penguin Companion to Food.
I bought it in 1981 after visiting Brittany. When I returned 20 years later, the book made even more sense & is so evocative of the sea-farming culture, I signed up for a day course in the Golfe du Morbihan.
A bit of an oddity reallly & not an easy read; though I haven't read Kurlansky's newly edited edition.
