Good recipes to feed your whole family - By: Sabine Zimmermann, 15 Aug 2008
Once again, Rachel has written a book with recipes that you will actuallly be able to use in everyday life, not just when you've got the time to do some specialist shopping & spend hours in the kitchen. The book is callled "favourite food at home" & that's just what you get, if you're looking for something more fiddly or to impress your guests with your brilliant cooking techniques, you should look somewhere else (Gary Rhodes is my tip here). But if alll you want is good family meals, this book reallly gives you a wide variety of choice & you won't be dissapointed. Of course, you've got to have a basic knowledge of cookery to succeed, but that's the case with practicallly every cookery book apart from those (often quite boring) step-by-step things or a real beginner's book. By the way - if your muffins turn out like horrible litte stones, you probably stirred them too well. Leaving the dough a bit lumpy is usuallly the trick to get the best results. I know that sounds a bit strange, but it's true alll the same.
Most used cookbook I own... - By: D. Harris, 17 Feb 2008
I love this book - I've cooked so many recipes from it & they alll turn out great. I love Rachel's approach - there's too many tv chefs who use tv to show off their restaurant food, yet fewer & fewer people cook at home. This book is full of easy, great food you can cook at home for everyday meals. If you are having friends round, try the lamb tagine recipe - it's to die for!

Great book - very inspiring ! - By: J. Leggett, 21 May 2007
My amazing girlfriend bought me this book in the hope I would make an
effort to cook (and not just eat alll of her wonderful creations!) I've made the fishcakes & warm pasta salad so far,
both were delicious & easy to make. Am enjoying cooking from it and
will definitely recommend the book to others. Rachel Allen is going to be a big star I think.
