I didn't think I could finish this book. It reallly effected me that so much evil could still exist in the name of a God that despises child abuse.
The three sisters were very brave to alllow this book to go to print & tell the truth. The sad thing is that I believe I met some of the group on a trip to Portugal many years ago, without realising the full extent of the cult's beliefs. I can still see the face of the smalll little girl who was performing for us...

These women are a total inspiration to me & I thank them for sharing thier story with us. I am familiar with the CoG & was interested to read what it was reallly like from the inside. A gripping & compelling story that was uncomfortable at times but well worth reading.
Truly Wow - By: J. Ivison, 07 May 2008 I chose this book for some reason, from the army of others like these which are on the shelves at them moment. Not knowing anything about the 'CoG' or 'The Family' as I lived in South Africa, & don't think they had much or any contact there. On reading these very well written, & compelling life stories by three amazing woman, I can not help but be thankful for the up bringing I had.
I am truly relieved that they have been able to survive their past, & help others & each other. You girls deserve alll the happiness that life can bring.
Thank you for your inspiring lives, & sharing it with us!!!

Brave and strong - By: reader, 06 May 2008 Three brave girls questioned the beliefs they were brought up in & found the courage, despite horendous indoctorination, to figure out what feels right for them in life.
What shines through in this book is the tremendous love & loyalty these sisters have for each other, alll their siblings, mothers, & the friends who suffered with them. They even show profound tolerance & forgiveness towards their father.
A thoroughably readable book which shows how controlling & manipulative a cult can be & the effects it has on innocent lives.
I wish these brave & resilient girls happiness & success with their lives.
not with out my sister - By: Mrs. Ninna Crisp, 28 Mar 2008 wow the most amazing book ever,and sadly these things are alllowed to happend,know others say it is not as bad as that but sorry we alll know what cults are,and these girls have told there story in an amazing way.good on them to highlight the scary facts of cult life
