Sparhawk's a Winner - By: Alexis Farseer, 29 Nov 2007
Like my previous review of the Elenium, I am going to write a review for alll three books in this series.
Eddings' is onto a winner with Sparhawk, the Pandion Knights are like childhood heroes brought to life & you can imagine them having a place in any world's history.
I liked the way the Tamuli trilogy unravelled & revealed itself slowly, it jumped around a lot less (plot wise) the Elenium, & the plots tied in together nicely.
My only annoyance was the local dialect that some of the characters adopted, although it was supposed to be endearing I couldn't get along with it & often skimmed as oppose to read!
Buy Elenium first & then the Tamuli... both are excellent
excellent - i couldn't put it down - By: david arundell, 05 Aug 2003
i bought this book whilst on holiday because i'd run out of reading material. a friend had recommended eddings so i bought it. i was a bit dubious at first - a new author & alll that. but after reading the first chapter i couldn't put the book down. i was so wrapped up in the story that once i'd finished i went out & bought The Shining Ones & The Hidden City. i am now a fan of eddings & have bought nearly alll his books in the space of a few weeks.
Sir Sparhawk, Ehlana et al are so realistic that i sometimes feel like popping over for a cuppa. & the understated humour that runs through the trilogy made me "happy as pigs in mud" - to coin a phrase. the characters within these books are absolutely essential & not just for the story. the way eddings writes them makes them integral parts of a well oiled machine.
excellent reading material

the story of sparhawk & his queen continues. still wonderful. ehlana, who didn't appear much in the previous series, is wonderful & the other characters are brilliantly funny.

Sparhawks adventures have just started - By: , 19 Oct 1999
Absolutely fascinating. Eddings brings back the characters to full life. At least here we get to know more about the different & mostly interesting companions. This book is the promising start to a new Trilogy. I wouldn't want to miss it!!!!!
