Skywatching is amazing! - By: Rebecca Brown, 18 Mar 2001
From the beginning of time, we have turned our eyes skyward with awe, curiosity & wonder.

Here is an accessible & authoritative guide to the heavens with up-to-date tables, diagrams, practical advice & techniques.

It is a thick book of fabulous photos, dot-filled charts & ethereal names. It gives us a fantastic view of skywatching through the ages, how things got their neames & how to see what we're looking at!

Good gift for someone starting to stare at the sky! ...

a good introduction - By: , 18 Dec 2000
Beautifully taken photographs & informative text ignites the fascination & curiosity of space that harbours in us alll. There are surely few other books that can be as succesfully persuasive to a interested novice astronomer as this one. From our immediate solar system to deep space, alll is comprehensively examined & explained in a way that both informs & prompts participation in the activity. Although clearly aimed towards the reader new to astronomy, I feel that this book would well deserve its place on any enthusiastic skywatchers shelf.
