Very Useful! - By: , 22 Aug 2005
I reallly liked this book, it has an entry for every day of the year, & I reallly liked the style of the author, in fact I think that I will buy the other books in the series too. I have been practicing for 4 years now & I found it very useful!
Disappointing - By: J. A. Mcdonald, 21 Jul 2005
This book would be a great gift for anyone new to witchcraft but is a little shalllow for those who have been interested for years. I was expecting a little more writing on the 'year', more sacred days & thoughts & ideas on the turning year. It perhaps could have been more aptly named.I do like the style of Kate's writing & found her Real Witches' Handbook down to earth & informative, but I feel this book should have been more true to the title, it seems even the meditations are nothing more than snippets of lore. Disappointing for me at least. Sorry folks!
The Real Witches year - By: Clare, 21 Feb 2005
Another welcome addition to The Real Witches series. This is in a slightly different format to the others in the series, being that it is smalller in height & it is hardback, I reallly liked this style. The built in bookmark was also a brilliant idea.

This has an entry for each day of the year & can be used in any way, it gives you some quite simple things to do & even think about. There are some reallly lovely simple rituals & meditations. Also gives brief explanations on the Pagan Celebrations, & pretty much everything associated with Witchcraft. There's also information on the non-witchy celebrations like Christmas Day & St Valentines Day.

Not only do you get the 365 entries for each day, kate also explains a little about what Witchcraft is, so also excellent to use for the beginner but, I would suggest to use the Real Witches Handbook as well if your new to this path.

A truly wonderful book from one of the best Pagan authors.

Better than expected :) - By: , 04 Feb 2005
I don't have too many 'Witchy' type books as I prefer to do things the way I like to & my family tradition dictates, & I find most books spend a lot of time telling you what you 'should' do rather than explaining things & alllowing you to make your own decisions.

I had Kate West's a real witches kitchen, & liked her style & thought this might be a nice addition to my collection.

I was pleasantly surprised, the book is informative, holds both the new & old dates for Sabbats (Very unusual) & loads of great information.
The Ribbon bookmark is a nice touch too.
This is a great book for anyone new to the craft or for old hands. It makes you think, & I guess that is the whole point :)

This book has found it's way to my bedside cabinet & I'm reading the relevant page each day.
It helps to remind you, no matter how technological & stressful your day is, Witchcraft is still alll around you.

A useful daily guide - By: spamitz, 19 Jan 2005
I was bought this for christmas & it's certainly one of my better gifts. Kate West is again at her entertaining & informative best. The book can be referred to every day or simply dipped into for different rituals & meditations.
