Really good! - By: marky77, 02 Jan 2008
I loved "Lord of the Shadows"! One of the best in the saga (so far), in my opinion!

Darren travels back to his hometown with Harkat & the Crique de Freak, here they met Darrens old school friend (who is now a famous footballl player), a strange young boy callled Darius, an of course, Steve!

Fans of Darren Shan wont be dissappointed with this one!.

He Is Destruction........................ - By: , 09 Dec 2005
It's almost time fellow shansters, the saga is coming to an end & soon we'll find out who will rule the night: a vampire prince, or a vampaneze lord.

Set 2 years after we find out who Harkat used to be the two friends are still with the cirque, but Darren's break from the hunt is over, he must return to where it alll began & let destiny take course, he must return home!

We are reintroduced to old friends as well as old enemies including: Debbie, Alice, Annie, Tommy Jones, Morgan James, RV and, of coure, Steve Leopard.

I don't want to give away thye ending, but rest assured, once you finish this book you will have to read sons of destiny to satisfy your bloodlust!

"after a bit of a disapointed book 10, I'm thrilled to say.. - By: , 25 Sep 2004
that the books have gone back on track! "Lord Of The Shadows" is definitely the best of the Darren Shan Saga so far - with huge twists & unpredictable story lines. The book contains many old faces - Debbie, Alice Burgess, Steve, Evanna, Mr. Talll, R.V., Tommy, Darren Shan (of course!), Annie (!), Harkat (aka Kurda), Evra, & the sinister Mr. Tiny. This book is just so amazing!
The Cirque are moving on to a new destination to perform infront of awed crowds - & they're heading for Darren's hometown! He finds out that Annie has a son, & spies on the two of them for a while, until having to go back to the Cirque. A mysterious young boy shows up at the Cirque Du Freak, callled Darius, who recieves tickets for the show. Yet he doesn't show up, but Darren's old friend Tommy Jones - now a huge footballl phenomenon - does! Darren gets tickets to the semi-finals of a footballl game, but then Tommy gets brutallly murdered by Gannen Harst & R.V., leaving Darren distraught. After getting beaten up by Steve Leopard (the Vampaneze Lord) & Darius - who turns out to be Steve's son - he gets found by two Vampirites, humans who are on the Vampire's sides thanks to Darren's old girlfriend Debbie & an ex-chief inspector Alice Burgess. And Debbie is coincidentallly at the house where he is being treated. But after Evanna & Mr Talll tell Darren terrible & frightening things of the Lord Of The Shadows, Darren's life turns pure evil...

The book has a fantastic ending, leaving the reader begging for more. I finished this book in two hours, & wish it was a lot longer! The last episode (boo hoo!) in the saga comes to you on October 14th 2004 - when he will be doing a booksigning at Milton Keynes' Ottakars' Book Store from 1pm-2pm - during school!
