review by author himself - By: Jason Vale, 09 Sep 2007
My name is Jason Vale & I am the author of this book. I don't usuallly look at my own reviews, but decided to take a little look.
I wrote this book some time ago & I have to agree with some of the comments. The recipe names are extremely bad puns & I cringe myself when I look back at them. I have changed them, but that won't be until the next print run. I have never pretended to be the best writer in the world & I write my books with everyone in mind. One comment I don't agree with at alll is the one about this book being copied from Leslie Kenton. I think Leslie is a great author of health, but my books & hers are very different. You will notice that I have only given my own book 3 stars. That's because I feel that's alll the book is worth at this time & I have written better books since. For the price you reallly can't go wrong. If the book inspires even just one person to better health then it was worth writing it. As it is the book has sold over 100,000 copies & I know from our postbag it has helped thousands. If you do get this book I hope it inspires like it has for many. For those who didn't like it, I hope my often poor command of the English language, hasn't put you off juicing. Best juicy wishes to alll. Jason Vale

excellent choice - By: , 08 Apr 2006
This book is invaluable & I have found it so useful. The juice recipes are delicious & this book is the ideal companion to 'Slim 4 Life, Freedom from the trap'. This book helps you to put into practice what you have read in 'Slim 4 Life'.

I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about trying the Jason Vale way of life.

Copied from Kenton - By: bruce, 07 Apr 2006
This book is irritating in the extreme. It is poorly written, has constant bad puns, & is styled in an annoyingly camp fashion.
The recipes are useful, if you can wade through the unfunny jokes, but an index is notably missing.
The worst aspect of this book is that it is so obviously copied directly from Leslie Kenton's excellent writings. Not only that, but Vale has failed to give any credit to Kenton, & indeed, does not even mention her.
In summary, a badly written, mangled copy of a far superior book.
Do yourself a favour, buy Leslie Kenton's 'Raw Energy Bible'.
Bad Pun Master - By: M. J. Boyce, 26 Aug 2005
This book was very useful in terms of content & recipes, but I do agree with another reviewer who felt that an index or quick find system should have been incorporated. This would certainly encourage me to use the book more often.

The information enclosed is interesting, but I also found that the Juice Master's style of writing quickly became irritating & the poor puns that continued throughout the book detracted from its appeal.

Overalll, a useful book but not my type! Great if you can stand the bad jokes, but if not, buy a more conventional recipe book.

Fantastic! - By: Rachael, 21 Feb 2005
This is such a great book. It starts off with what you would expect - juicing is great, look at the benefits etc, etc. Then it goes through each fruit & veg alphabeticallly, & gives it a thorough going over. What vits, mins & other nutrients are in there & how these chemicals can help in various ways. Not just the usuallly prevent a cold stuff but with diabetes, high blood pressure etc. Also what's useful is his tips on whether to juice or put in a blender so I've dug my blender out & it sits next to my juicer. The recipes are useful but reallly you don't need to follow a recipe just bung some fruit and/or veg in. I hate raw carrots but put in with apples, pears, a banana & ginger (alll my juices have this in) I can't even tell a carrot's there! It is reallly worth buying.
