A good book... - By: L. Sewell, 13 Apr 2007
This book was wrote excellently, & given it's storyline I found I enjoyed reading it - rather than getting annoyed because it wasn't based on real life! Did anyone get a shock with the SEX SCENE? Well as moderate as it was, we're used to minimal sex references in Jenny Colgan books. But this was also done well!
On a negative note, I didn't find this as funny, probably because it ventured slightly out of the chic-lit genre & more into fantasy with alll the wishes. Though from about half way, I knew how it was going to end.
Fun and Lively - a good holiday book - By: Ernie the cat, 02 Apr 2007
I wasn't too sure about this one at first, thought it was going to be silly, but i ended up reallly enjoying it. I would have liked a bit more detail at the end to understand the affect it had on everyone else's life. Will definitely keep an eye out for some of her other books. I think if you like this one then you should check out the history of Lucy's love life by Deborah Wright.
Lighthearted and amusing - By: Aliena, 15 Mar 2007

I adore Jenny Colgan. This is the fifth book I've read by her, & she never fails to entertain me. I've learned not to take her books with me the train, because they always make me laugh out loud, & having people stare at you is rather uncomfortable.

Do You Remember The First Time? is not as hystericallly funny as Amanda's Wedding or Talking to Addison, but incredibly amusing in a more clever way, like Working Wonders. It's a lovely take on an often used plot device, & Jenny Colgan actuallly makes it feel rather believable.

I love Jenny Colgan's heroines, & Flora is no exception. She's a bit over-emotional of course, but she turns into a teenager? What can be a better excuse?

The ending is predictable, but perfect!

If you're looking for something light & funny to read, I can definitely recomment Do You Remember The First Time?
WARNING DO NOT READ... - By: dizzyshelly, 06 Dec 2006
In public! I was reading this in my doctors waiting room & was getting seriously odd looks from alll the other people there because I kept laughing out loud!

This book is one of the funniest things I have ever read. I enjoyed it far more than Amandas Wedding & Talking to Addison, both of which I liked.

I recomend it to every female old or young!
I loved it...but - By: Mrs. Gemma L. Cantan, 19 Jul 2006
I loved it! I found I could relate to Flora...I remember only to vividly what it was like being 16 & I probably wouldn't want to relive it but I found it amazing how she ajusted & got on with things & I was highly bemused when Clelland pulled his brother Jamie away from her. ha ha ha. I adored it but there are a few things that I didn't like...

On another note I would have liked a bigger twist at the end. I liked her relationship with Jamie alot... It would make an awesome film! I would 100% say that it would make even the strongest person, laugh, cry & crinch. I want to read more of Jenny Colgan's books...who ever said books that come free with magazines are rubbish was a liar because I think its great. I couldn't put it down...I even took it to work! lol. I've been telling alll my friends about it. I've even got a few friends asking me to lend it to them but I don't think so...its my fave story of the year!
