laugh out loud funny - By: rebaby, 22 Mar 2008
I first read this book a long time ago & have been back to it a couple of times since, which i think is unusual given the nature of it. It is reallly a light-hearted comedy/romance & i have to admit something i would normallly walk past in a book shop but the copy i have came free with a magazine & one bored day i decided to give it a go...

I am SO glad i did. The story won't change your world, but it did have me laughing out loud many times & each time i have read it i enjoy it as much as the first. It is easy to read & i certainly felt able to empathise with the main character Mel.

I would urge anyone reading this to give it a go & i think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
HA HA! Brilliant. - By: L. Sewell, 13 Apr 2007
I read this book about a year ago, my first Jenny Colgan book & now I have read alll but two of her books.
It was too her first published book, so I think if someone was choose to start reading one of her books, this would be the one to start with.
It is by far, in my opinion, the funniest of alll her books with many unexpected twists & turns.
The story is basic, but genius for someone who hasn't read in a while.
I've got back into reading thanks to Jenny Colgan!
an okay book - By: M. Burton, 19 Feb 2007
I thought this book was okay. Well written & everything however it is fairly predictable from the start which is very upsetting. Even from reading the blub at the back & the title of the book you know Amanda isn't going to marry.
The storyline was funny & did make me laugh at bits but that was about it.
Read only if you want to
Excellent book you cant put down. - By: , 09 Jan 2006
Amandas Wedding was the first book of Jenny Colgans i read out of alll of them (oh yeah i've read alll of them lol) I first read it about 5 years ago, loved it, so when i was bored 2 months a go i picked it back up. I suddenly remembered why i loved it, its so witty, sarcastic & full of humour as well as romance, friendships & scottish men. :P Its the best book out of them alll i would say (the other books i found it hard to get into, a bit slow & ya have to read 100 pages before you get to anything juicy). If your looking for a witty book & your a down to earth person that likes nothing more than having great mates, a pint in the pub, & a good chin wag with ya female friends then this is the book to go for. If your a girly girl & just want romance, you'll find the romance but probably wont appreciate the tom boy attitude of Mel & Fran ( main characters). Any one who buys this book wont be able to put it down its an excellent book.
Fabulous, brilliant, un-put-downable! - By: Penelope Clearwater, 29 Mar 2005
I absolutely ADORE this book. It follows Melanie, a girl who alll the rest of us can relate to. From the first page to the last, Jenny Colgan keeps us laughing & crying along with Mel, our heroine. This book has made me a fan of Colgan's for LIFE.
