MacNificent! - By: Bookworm/FilmBuffy, 15 Aug 2002
This is one of my favourites by Lavyrle Spencer. Big time country & western singer having to return to her home town to look after her ill mother until after her operation.
Tess 'Mac' MacPhail is used to being loved & adored by millions, but she gets brought down a peg or two by the family she's neglected, & her mother's neighbour whom she taunted as a child.
No longer the high school geek, sparks begin to fly between the pair of them, together with feelings they'd rather ignore. But it's his young daughter who is in awe of Tess, & has a thirst for similar fame.
As usual, it's a another 'can't put down' book by our fave author, & I hope I've done it justice. Did I mention it's brilliant? Hence 5 stars!
A Believable fairy story! - By: , 21 Sep 2000
A heart warming book, which grips the reader from the minute that Tess's car turns into the centre of Wintergreen.La Vyrle Spencer continues to teach us about dealing with the myriad of human emotions which even the rich & famous have to deal with.I loved it!
