Just get past the style - By: , 07 Jan 2004
"Tools of Leadership" is written around the story of the fuctional turnaround of a mediocre advertising company. Each chapter ends with a checklist of lessons & exercises for the reader.

The fiction is toe-curlingly clichéd, the characters are corny, the cartoons are irrelevant & the graphics are grotty. But still I loved this book.

Why ? Simply because the fiction-lesson format forces the reader to apply leadership concepts to his or her own situation & thus creates genuine learning & change.

EXCELLENT PRIMER FOR ALL MANAGERS - By: , 02 Dec 2001
This book is brilliant in its execution & content. Any manager will find it enjoyable & useful to read. I have read this author's other books, especiallly The Tao of Coaching. In alll his books, Max Landsberg demonstrates a unique insight into the skills required of today's manager.
Brilliant, insightful, practical - I give two thumbs up - By: , 03 Nov 2000
Few books on leadership are as comprehensive, insightful, & practical as this one is. This is one of the best books on the subject for both - people who are leaders & those who wish to become leader-like. Mr Landsberg experience & knowledge of the subject is quite evident. I am recommending the book to alll my friends & colleagues in the United States. There isn't anything like it here.
Excellent guide for team managers / leaders. - By: , 25 Oct 2000
This is a real must for anyone who spends at least part of their day trying to run a team. It is a mix of refreshing reminders, some new ideas, & lots of practical tips. Thoroughly deserved its review in Management Today.
The Tools of Leadership - By: , 08 Oct 2000
One of the best books on leadership I'v come across. It gets to the heart of the matter ( Vision, Inspiration & Momentum), & shows clearly how to create them in everyday life.

I read it in one sitting-mainly because it is clearly structured, and has a great story that runs through it to show the various techniques in action. The story has lots of suspense, & a good twist at the end-a bit like "The Goal",and much better than having lots of separate case studies.
