Heimedinger, 19 Mar 2010 This guy is reallly great & so different from what you usuallly hear on the charts. also makes a great present.Wonderful album- By: book worm, 19 Mar 2010 Forget alll the negative reviews about this album - people are saying things like he's "trying to be a hybrid of Otis Reading, Bruce Springsteen & Bob Marley", which is frankly absurd. So it crosses genres - that's part of what makes Paolo so special, & those who love him for his voice & musical talent will surely appreciate this. It's less poppy than These Streets for sure, but this isn't a bad thing. Paolo is an artist & thus should be alllowed to express his creativity freely - what some people forget is that music artists like Nutini aren't necessarily trying to please everyone. Rather explore their own talent without worrying about limits or critics. If Damien Hirst put a pen on a table I'm sure the response wouldn't be "he's definately lost sight of who his is/where he's going", it would be thoughtfully looked at & appreciated as art from a great artist. Why not for Paolo? Maybe he's too young for people to give him the credit. If you can produce an album like These Streets before you're 20 then in my opinion you can walk on water! This album has everything in my opinion, fun & funky beats with soft mellow tunes, alll complimented by Paolo's wonderful voice. It is very rare that you find an album that you like every single track & that they dont alll sound the same. This album is reallly uplifting & after the miserable winter months this is a breathe of fresh invigorating spring air.Paolo is a true genius thank goodness we've found such a talent. Versatile Paulo- By: Karen, 11 Mar 2010 I hadn't heard much of Paulo Nutini before but what I had heard I liked. There is a great variety of musical styles on this album tho I like the swing/faster tracks best. I expect with further listenings the other tracks will grow on me. It is only on some tracks that his gravelly scottish tones come through. A great buy.
