Stunning - By: Pete, 05 Nov 2008
Just a beautiful album, with the band sounding so relaxed & note perfect. I reallly do recommend this so much. And don't forget to pop the DVD into your PC for the extra mp3s: so far there's 'Wot's Uh...the Deal', Dominoes & a rather amazing Shine On You Crazy Diamond. A new track will be added every month until September 2009. How great a package is this! :-)
Long live Sir Gilmour - By: PLourenco, 23 Oct 2008

Amazing, beautiful & fantastic!

Gilmour is on the top of the prog & classic rock royal families & this album shows well that.

This album also pays a fair tribute to Rick Wright... Shine on...

Pink Floyd's last hurrah! - By: C. O'toole, 14 Oct 2008
If you held out hope that maybe floyd would re convene after their Live 8 reunion, well that hope is now dashed with the passing of the legendary Rick Wright, a very talented organist who watched as successive leaders disintegrated into mental Illness or fell out spectacularly. This is the closest you'll get to a Pink Floyd live experience. It was the last night of Gilmour's "On an Island" tour in Gdansk in August 2006.
never afraid to trot out the same songs it starts with "Speak to me" segueing into "Breathe" from Dark Side, just when you thought you're in for a full helping of Dark Side Dave wisely plays his (entire) album & It's alll right in a sort of banal Division Bell way.
This album gets its plaudits for the second disc, a nice mellow version of "Shine on you crazy diamond" gives way to an excellent version of "Astronomy Domine" "Fat old Sun" from 1970 is a pure joy, the psychedelic accoustics move into a killer solo. "Echoes" is quite simply astounding in alll its 25 minutes of glory, reproducing the original beautifully, Wright's & Gilmour's voices harmonise as they did in 1971. "High Hopes" is brilliant & was always the stand out track from the Division bell. "Comfortably Numb" closes the set in brilliant style the angst/sentamentality of its verse/chorus erupt into one of the best guitar solos of alll time. Dave's playing is spot on, his band which include sessioners from the momentary lapse of reason tour are excellent, Phil manzarera from Roxy Music plays back up guitar. It's a timely & fitting gesture to Richard Wright one of Rock's understated gentlemen. May you rest in peace
cherry picking - By: Rosaline Maher, 12 Oct 2008
Being a hard core Floyd fan for many years after hearing Meddle I've tried to buy everything that I can afford. I've watched three tracks from this package: High Hopes, Echoes & Comfortable Numb - three of my favourite tracks. High Hopes is incredible especiallly the last few acoustic minutes. I can't decide whether I prefer this version of Echoes or the version on "A Night to Remember" - I think the latter. Comfortably Numb is, as always, brilliant - although I would have liked an extended guitar solo. As I've yet to watch both DVDs & haven't even listened to the CDs I leave my review there. But something I mean to do in the near future is to watch the Live at Pompei Echoes & then the Night to Remember version. Question: Where's Nick Mason?

I agree with the comments regarding the packaging - it sucks!!
A Fitting Tribute - By: David Hobbs, 12 Oct 2008
I bought this yesterday & have payed it a couple of times already. The live versions of the 'On an Island' material surpass the studio versions. Top track is 'Echoes', showing off Rick Wright's extraordinary talents without him 'showing off', if you see what I mean. What is always good to see on live DVDs is how the band interact - there are some lovely smiles & nods of appreciation - they look like they are having fun. Gilmour & Wright shine, but Guy Pratt & Phil Manzanera provide excellent backup & the addition of the orchestra reallly make it the special occasion it was.

All in alll, a great album and, more importantly, a fitting tribute to the late great Rick Wright. RIP.
