amazing - By: Paul M. Mitchell, 09 Aug 2008
This is the best album Ive heard for a long time, Im a brummie myself so might be slightly biased, but this reallly is the best Ive heard UB40 sound since "who you fighting for?" its such a shame that the band were fragmenting whilst it was being recorded, but if this is the LAST album they put out as the original members then theyve gone out in style with no loss of the panache theyve displayed over the years.
God bless UB40, the songs have always made you think about the deeper stuff in life but its nice to think about that whilst also dancing.
Grand Finale - By: Paul Broxton, 06 Jul 2008
A fantastic album to finish off with by the original line up. Not a bad track on this album at alll. Good vocals by Ali as usual & a good performance by the new additions to the group. Unlike one of the previous reviews, I think that " Slow Down " is one of the best tracks on the album. Great version of " I shot the Sheriff " & the Beatles " I'll be back." Sad to see Ali leave & good luck to him, he will go far. Good luck to the rest of the lads too as they will also do well with Maxi Priest & Duncan Campbell joining the group.
This album is well worth listening to. Probably one of the best in UB40's long & distinguished career.
best album in years.....maybe best ever..... - By: Luis F. Romero Mojica, 05 Jul 2008
just received it yesterday.....its a great album...powerful lyrics....very political....nice riddims...and every singer in this band takes his chance in this album.....the only songs i don't reallly like are "slow down" & "i shot the sheriff" (dunno, maybe UB40 should've been done a cover of another bob marley song...from lee perry period...like "stand alone" or "duppy conqueror").....
not near as good as any other album - By: Mr. Mccarthy Charles, 20 Jun 2008
i have been a UB fan since 1981, & this shouts out cheep, without much thought going into the real UB feel, still Ali sounds as good as ever, shame the end of an era.
ub40 twentyfourseven - By: Mr. T. Walsh, 19 Jun 2008
last cd by ali campbell has lost none of its magic.there are tracks of a political nature like end of war , securing peace, the road, cover versions of its alll the game(tom edwards), ill be back(beatles), a great cover of i shot the sherriff(bob marley), plus dance until the morning light(sample desmond dekker),on the whole a return to classic form. my favorite track being ill be there.
