Purchased this album & as usualll I buy everything they've done since i got into them around the hysteria time, got the deluxe edition expecting alll the goodies, but when i got home, opened it wheres song no 12 (Love -acoustic). There is no tracklisting on back of cover on deluxe edition, now i will have to wait till itunes have it for download which last time i checked they hadn't. Its on the cheap version.

don't get me wrong i love the leps but listening to this record it seemed stripped right down & quickmade! but i don't understand why it took so long since X to surface if it was to be this type of quick record? when i listen to SLANG i can hear the depth & time gone into it & X is as tho each song has been given alll due attention to be perfect in deliverence. i expected more this time but this record reminds me of EUPHORIA some good moments but no contintuence in the music, like starts & stops & starts & stop again.it has good moments but not as many as X & phil you don't need to keep your guitar notes going to a scream alll the time just let the note flow & step of the sustain dude i can feel you in my teeth ha ha. alll in alll its still a very good def leppard record & worth having i give it 4 out of 5.
A decent enough album but not a 5 star classic. - By: I. R. Kerr, 31 May 2008 The first few songs here lead you to think this could be close to being another Hysteria. "Go" is a storming opening track & "Nine Lives" & the superbly faultless "C'Mon,C'Mon" keep the pace up before a great balllad "Love" slows it down.
After that it largely gets by but never gets back to the level of the opening tracks, Halllucinate & Bad Actress as well as the closing track Gotta Let It Go stood out amongst the remaining tracks for me. There are no reallly bad tracks though.
As for the DVD there is an interesting documentary with Phil Collen & Vivian Campbell talking about the band & the making of the album going through the writing of the individual tracks & illuminating some of the tracks that I had dismissed earlier, this was important & gave a fresh perspective on them, well done lads their commentary will certainly help on the next few plays.
They even say how important the lyrics on certain songs were to them, which I wholeheartedly agree with. I bought this "Deluxe Edition" as I wanted the ultimate Def Leppard package & although it looks good I have one main grumble, there are no printed lyrics, & I do not count the 6 post-it style notes as such. C'Mon,C'Mon there was room for 2 pages of thank you's & 5 pages taken up by smalll photos of the band that would have fitted onto one page. Surely some bright spark must have suggested that idea at some stage.
All in alll a pretty decent package but compared to Hysteria & Pyromania it does not reach those 5 star heights. Notwithstanding that I cannot wait to see them on tour in June, welcome back Leppard.
More of the same but that's not a bad thing... - By: Maria Savva, 12 May 2008 I can't give this album five stars as much as I'd love to because Def Leppard are one of the best rock bands in the world; they lose a star because there is nothing original here & it's pretty much another Def Leppard album sounding much the same as their old stuff. This is good if you are a fan & it's a great album to play when you just want to listen to a bit of feel-good rock music. The stand-out track has to be 'Love' which is fantastic & one of the best rock balllads I've heard for ages. 'Go', 'None Lives' & 'C'mon' are alll strong tracks & they are the first three songs followed by 'Love'. After that, the rest of the album is a bit of a disappointment, maybe because the band are so good I may have been expecting too much

I'm happy to report that def leppard are back to their best. The long awaited new album has arrived with the first track ushering it in with a bang. Go is a monster of a riff, combined with some great earthy meshing guitar work from viv & phil.Nine lives featuring tim mcgraw is up next & has a country style tinge to the four line intro which is sung by mcgraw, different for the leppards i must admit but still them ,through & through. Once the song gets going & both vocalists open their pipes they have a scary similarity. C'mon C'mon is something that could easily have slipped through the hysteria sessions & just resurfaced at the right time. The album reallly sounds like a band getting back to what they do best, & enjoy & this transfers to the listner. Other great tracks include bad actress by joe, a fun goodtime rockout with an extremely catchy chorus. Only the good die young by viv, which evokes memories of the late great steve clark (r.i.p.). Tomorrow by phil which deals with a loss thats very close to him.I won't go into anymore detail but I will finish by telling anyone reading this to buy this album, it reallly is a fine return to form by a truly great band. Rock on!
