Believe The Boom ! - By: The Wolf, 26 Jul 2008
Yup. It's Good. Very, very good in fact.

Genre-fretters have long been out to pin this fine little combo down.

Three albums in however & what we have here in essence
are twelve splendidly energetic pop songs.

The pared-down, edgy simplicity which has become
Mr Hince's & Ms Mosshart's callling card belies a finely
honed ability to create catchy & memorable material
of the finest calibre from the simplest musical building blocks.

'Getting Down' must surely have the ghost of Mr Bolan smiling in the wings.

'Cheap & Cheerful' could & should find a place in every discotheque in the land.

'Last Day Of Magic' romps along like there's no tomorrow - its'
killer hook chorus irresistible.

Darker moments intrude occasionallly. Closing track 'Goodnight Bad Morning'
demonstrates a capacity for a more tender, reflective style but essentiallly
'Midnight Boom' is a stonkingly upbeat affair.

We will be unlikely to hear many more finer albums this year.

Highly recommended
WOW - By: L. Brady, 03 May 2008
I don't ever write reviews so I'm useless at it.. but this album is absolutly brilliant, has alll the ingredients.. melodies, beats, dirty guitar, cooning & gnarling vocals.. I seen them live in Brighton also & they were incredible. Kind of hope they remain an underground secret though, is that bad?
THE KILLS MIDNIGHT BOOM - By: NAT B, 20 Apr 2008
THE KILLS ARE FANTASTIC. RECENTLY SAW THEM LIVE IN LEEDS AND THEY WERE AMAZING. THEY HAVE RAW EDGINESS THAT IS RARE IN BANDS THESE DAYS. THE ATMOSPHERE ON STAGE WAS ELECTRIC. JAMIE HINCE IS MORE FAMOUS THESE DAYS FOR BEING KATE MOSS'S BOYFRIEND BUT HE IS AN EXTREMELY TALENTED MUSICIAN - HIS HANDLING OF THE GUITAR WAS FAB TO WATCH - HE PUT HIS ALL INTO THAT CONCERT AND LISTEN TO. THE FEMALE OF THE BAND IS BEAUTIFUL ANYWAY WITH HER LONG DARK HAIR - BUT SHE HAS SUCH A BRILLIANT STAGE PRESENCE - SHE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO ANY OF THE STEREO TYPICAL FEMALES IN BANDS OF LATE, SHE STRUTS AROUND THE STAGE, PLAYS THE GUITAR AND SINGS AMAZINGLY WELL AND IS A BREATH OF FRSH AIR. SHE CAN BE COMPARED TO PJ HARVEY, SIOUSXIE, A FEMALE IGGY POP, SHE PULLS THE CROWD IN WITH HER LOUD, GRITTY, ROCK N ROLL. I LOVED THE BAND BEFORE I SAW THEM BUT THEY WERE FAB LIVE - SO IF YOU GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THEM THEN PLEASE DO. I HAVE RECENTLY GOT THEIR 2ND ALBUM - NO WOW - WHICH WAS RELEASED IN 2005 SO I HOPE THAT IS A S GOOD AS THE MOST RECENT ONE. I HOPE THAT PEOPLE CONTINUE TO APPRECIATE THE KILLS AND THAT THEY STAY AROUND FOR SOME TIME AS THEY ARE FAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Brilliant - By: Alexis Bulgarium, 31 Mar 2008
I completely agree with the first review, this album is absolutely packed full of tunes. Its one of those albums where you keep turning the stereo up with every song because each is better than the last.
The album starts with the brilliant singles U.R.A. Fever & the simple but so catchy Cheap & Cheerful. Other highlights include Getting Down, Last Day of Magic, Hook & Line & Sour Cherry. But everything in-between is also utterly great.
Forget the critics; best Kills album so far.
The Kills Have Made A Killer Album!!!!!!!!! - By: Dianne Allan, 27 Mar 2008
This album Is the best thing I've heard in ages! I've got there previous two albums & there pretty dam good but this latest effort kicks the sh*t out of both of them put together. Every tunes on the album is amzing. No lie! This is one of those rare albums that every song could be a single! It's that dam good! My personal favourites are (Last day of magic) amazing guitar riffs & synth beats! Probably the Kills best tune! (Alphabet Pony) is also a highlight on this album! Its got the most Haunted riff Ive heard in a long time. You'll understand when you hear it! Buy it or download it but spread the word, this is definaetly an album no to be missed!!!!
