easily the best since ok computer, ignore the attention seeking one star reviews - By: R. Foster, 02 Oct 2008
I'll be the first to admit at being sceptical about radioheads departure into experimental territory, leaving behind the masterpieces of bends\ok. The first listen of kid A was a shock to the system but now it's one of my favourites, but things have reallly clicked, on in rainbows, it's a more stripped down & directsounding album with some truely amazing moments, & works much better as a whole than the previous album. It's rare to find a band that have the ability to constantly evolve & find new musical territory. "All i need" could of come straight of the soundtrack for requiem to a dream, theres that sense of disspair with a glint at the end of the tunnel. In short get yourself a good hi-fi, turn the lights out & let in-rainbows take you on a mind trip, you won't regret it. in-rainbows is a future classic.
Like whistling in your trousers - By: Jonboy, 19 Sep 2008
This album is one hundred per cent 'rudge'. I got so totallly twisted when listening to it for what must have been the first time, that I almost soiled my armour. All the tracks here knock into each other & continue to do so long after you have gone to bed. Each time I hear track 4 & track 7 I feel like I have been lightly dusted & left out for the dustman. Crazy! And that's not alll.
Radiohead's ''Revolver'' - By: Nicholas Kenny, 13 Sep 2008
Ten years after releasing probably the greatest album of the 90s, Radiohead released probably the greatest album of the 00s. In alll seriousness, these guys are the closest we've come to a second Beatles. This is now my favourite album by them, & possibly by anyone.
If you are yet to own a Radiohead album, make it this one. If you haven't liked their previous efforts, give them one last chance. In Rainbows is the band's most accessible collection of songs so far, packed with delicious melodies. Not that they've ever been as impenetrable & pretentious as some people have suggested - their songs rarely exceed five minutes & usuallly have an identifiable chorus (Kid A & Amnesiac excepted).
Standout tracks? Weird Fishes & Videotape are the two I like most, but this is one of those albums where every track has little moments that you love. Don't listen to the hype - just buy it & you won't be disappointed.
the perfect body of music - By: the waf, 06 Sep 2008
this album is amazing it has stunning production & is beautifully layered music that you can't stop listening to. anyone who simply puts this on in the background is doing it an injustice. lock yourself in a room & put this album on nice & loud & just listen. the music simple absorbs & grabs you, the progression from song to song means the album feels like one cohesive body of work but is defiantly not "samey". some people say this album is radiohead reconnecting with there human side & you can see why in the way it grabs your head & heart it simply sucks you in & drags you away to a musical fantasy, if you ever need a way to disconnect from real life, in rainbow is the answer.
Their Best Yet !!! - By: Timmy 2 Shooz, 30 Jul 2008
This album is just brilliant.
I started off thinking that it was alll a bit odd & that only "Weird Fishes" reallly stood out. However after several listenings alll the tracks stand out, which despite being a tad illogical is true.
Further proof in my ever so humble opinion that Radiohead are the finest band since the Beatles, bar none. I also liked the way the album was sold. I received the cd as a present from a friend who had voluntarily paid for it.
In spite of the cynics who say that the idea of optional payment was just another marketing ploy or the indulgence of a rich band, I think that the fact that people continue to buy the record, & that at time of writing (july 31 2008)the album is at no.38 in the Amazon music charts, even though it's available legallly for free, says it alll. This record is superb from start to finish, a rarity these days.
