Didn't like 'Beautiful' but this is so beautiful written and performed - By: J Milton, 25 May 2008
I have to admit that from the first time I heard James Blunt first hit (played endlessly & everywhere), I was put off listening to any of his material. I heard '1973' one day on the radio & loved it, then the next single - eventuallly I had the chance to hear the whole album & it is up there with the very best. I am not sure why James Blunt gets dismissed as a bit of a light weight, but he does. Its a bit like David Gray, you look at him & cannot believe what he can conjure up. Every track on this album is perfect & will hook you from the first play. The songs seem to be deeply personal & you imagine. I am writing this review to exercise my guilt over how I dismissed JB after that initial single!
don't alf get on my nerves...... - By: wysiwy-f-g, 13 May 2008
...I've noticed that a couple of the 1 star reviwers have only ever reviewed this album. Obvioulsy got their own personal agenda & haven't listened to the music anyway, so I'm discounting them (perhaps they're not getting the same amount of "notches on bed post" action as soldier Blunt, eh?;)

I didn't enjoy it as much as his first stuff, & a few listens hasn't changed that.
Although "carry me home" is a song I blubbed at.With lyrics "I'm watching you breath now - for the last time.." which appears to be a song of someones dying moments, in action maybe? Heart moving, I would say...

"I reallly want you" "same mistake" & "shine on" stand out to me also. All over worth listening to? Of course!

If you liked Back to Bedlam, then you'll love this too! - By: K. Williams, 03 Feb 2008
Back to Bedlam was such a fantastic album which did reallly well so All the Lost Souls is bound to be over-critiqued. I've read some iffy reviews on sites & I personallly think it's fashionable to slate James Blunt because of who he is (i.e. posh & well-spoken) rather than actuallly listening to his music, which is a shame because the UK should be proud that we've got an exceptional singer-songwriter again who manages to put emotion & feeling into what he sings. Anyway, I think that All the Lost Souls is a well-written & well produced album with some great songs such as Carry You Home & I Reallly Want You. I am a big fan of both albums & would say that if you liked Back to Bedlam, then you'll love this.

James Blunt - All the Lost Souls - By: Ms. A. C. Edwards, 30 Jan 2008
I didnt think I could love a second album as much as I love Back to Bedlam, but he did it again. A brilliant album, so soulful & sensitive, & will have your emotions soaring. (If you see him live you will feel what a passionate singer/song-writer he reallly is.) This album is worth every penny!
One of the best from 2007 releases. - By: Jeffery J. Forster, 14 Jan 2008
Great album without a doubt, every track is fantastic, my favourite is 'I reallly want you'. Musicallly good easy listening, excellent sound etc etc.
