Please pop fans don't keep this lot going! - By: madlocust, 18 May 2008
There is so much more to rock music than this.Delve in & you'll find some truly great songs. This is rock for those who hate rock-How many times can you suffer it! :-)
OVERPLAYED AND IRRITATING - By: Peter Fenton, 26 Apr 2008
I would give this -5 if I could. Possibly the most annoying song I've ever heard. Affected midwest soft/stadium rock dross, constanly played in bleeped version by local radio stations. Why?
Fantastic, endlessly memorable song - By: Chris Dilke Wing, 18 Apr 2008
I understand & don't argue that everyone's entitled to their own opinion on something but I have to disagree with Mark Mango Bingo on this one. Just when you alll thought Nickelback were long forgotten, they've come back with a cracking song, & it's not even new material! It's taken a while to get this song recognised but thank goodness it has because it's just excellent. The brilliant tongue-in-cheek lyrics are catchy & memorable & Billy Gibbons' added vocals are a particular treat. In a run of songs that may not appeal to everyone but are nonetheless not going to be forgotten even years later, this has such rhythms, lyrics & a music video that's sure to make it a hit that will be long remembered. It's a shame that it tried so hard to get to #1 & didn't in the end, but it's still a great, great song, & love it or hate it, it's a tune that'll never be forgotten.
One of those magic records with truly immense appeal - By: L. Green, 29 Feb 2008

I'm so glad that this song has rekindled interest in Nickelback, a band that has been frequently plagued by unjust negative criticism. But this time, the unprecendented success of this song has given the band vital ammunition in their constant battle against the critics. Who cares what they think when the song & the accompanying album 'All The Right Reasons' have shot it into the UK top 5 & are still hanging on in there, months & months after their release. Now that's the sign of a successful song.

The appeal of Rockstar is that it works on two levels. On one hand it is highly comedic & the lyrics offer a perfect take on modern celebrity culture & then on the other hand you have the simple fact that Rockstar is just a great record. It's catchy & Chad's distinctive vocals still sound on top form. Every time i hear the song on the radio it still fills me with joy to hear something so perfect in its carefree nature, the sound of a band free to do as they want & enjoy themselves to the full - & coming up with such fantastic music in the process. The two b-sides, live versions of Nickelback classics, make for a nice bonus to this single too.

Solid, catchy Rock n Roll. Keep kicking this stuff out boys & you won't go wrong. Nickleback are truely establishing themselves are a force to be reckoned with. Great stuff. Loved this track the first time I heard it & love it more everytime I hear it again.
