Astonishing - By: Buddhafella, 17 Sep 2008
I saw the Flaming Lips in Birmingham, England in 2006 & they were utterly stunning. I came out the gig with an aching jaw from just smiling & laughing throughout the gig.

This DVD is pretty representive of their live show for this tour & it is everything a Lips fan would want. The ballloons, the confetti, the Mic-cam... it's alll so brilliantly exciting.

Wayne Coyne is easily the most engaging frontman in the world & his excitement is definitely contageous.

I would say this gig is the nearest you can actuallly get to being inside a drunk clowns mind.

NOT a DVD-Audio - By: N. Jones, 22 Sep 2007
This is a standard DVD that will work in any DVD player. It isn't a DVD-A disc. I've asked Amazon to update their product description.
So is this a DVD? - By: G. P. Stead, 19 Sep 2007
I'm a bit confused here. Is this a DVD i can play in my DVD player & watch the best live band in the world on my TV?
Exhilaratingly bonkers - By: G. MCGREGOR-SMITH, 14 Sep 2007
Saw these guys last year in Hyde Park & at Hammersmith. WOW. Genuinely spectacular.
Innocent & earnest, yet enthrallling, good time fun.

At the end of each song I found myself thinking "what on earth are they going to do next???" And it seemed as though the rest of the audience was thinking that too, as Wayne jumped straight into another lengthy cosmic monologue before revealing his latest favourite party toy & infusing / enthusing the audience once again with his childlike love of bangs, smoke, cosmic sparkles & deranged gadgets, & then knocking them dead with another classic from the Lips' repertoire.

If you're new to The Flaming Lips, you won't find a better place to make their acquaintance.

If you have only experienced their studio output, then prepare to be amazed at how much better their songs feel played live, with plenty of audience onstage participation & interaction, & a wonderfully joyous atmosphere.
Extraordinary band/ extraordinary concert. - By: Paul McColm., 07 Sep 2007
Personallly i think the Flaming Lips are the best live band on the planet at the moment, and this dvd does an excellent job of showing just why they command such love & respect from their audience.Their willingness to engage with their fans goes beyond the clap & singalongs most bands employ[witness, singer Wayne Coynes astonishingly brave entrance in his bubble, climbing over the heads of the first ten rows of the audience, before launching into the uplifting "Race For The Prize"].

As a concert film,U.F.O's At The Zoo is a fair representation of The Flaming Lips & their audience in the live arena, and shows off the bands live raw edges to great effect on tracks like "Free Radicals","The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song",and the timeless "She Don't Use Jelly".The bands subversion & lack of subtlety in concert is so refreshing as is their welcome willingness to make political statements .It also has enough time for the diverse range of fans the band have[there is real love & devotion coming from both sides here].Wayne Coyne's eccentricities make him such an unlikely frontman at times but his charisma is evident throughout the show.

Ultimately though, this dvd is a fine representation of an extraordinary band, and with or without suitable extras or a great multi channel mix U.F.O's At The Zoo shows why the Flaming Lips command such fanatical support & whilst it cannot replace the almost unique concert experience, this will do quite nicely until the band return to the live arena.
