Great CD's - By: Fred Winkler, 07 Jan 2007
I reallly love these tracks, nice to have them alll in one place. I reallly hope they will do a 2nd one soon, as there are some more rare SAW gems around. But for alll that wonder if you should get this CD box set .... do so, it is reallly great. If I ever feel a bit down, I just stick the CD's one, & within seconds I feel great again! Buy it now, you won't regreat it.
Excellent compilation including rare 12" mixes - By: Melba, 04 Jan 2007
Ignore the review below. There were many mixes of the Princess track & this compilation clearly says that it includes the 12" version of the track, so if your wild imagination lets you think you're getting something else, that's reallly your own stupidity & not something to downgrade a great compilation for. This compilation includes many tracks long out of print & some that have never appeared on CD before, such as Mandy Smith's version of "Got To Be Certain" (an early hit for Kylie Minogue). Also included are tracks that are virtuallly impossible to obtain on CD without paying high collector's prices, such as the extended mixes of the Mandy Smith & Reynolds Girls tracks, or any of the Sinitta & Sonia titles (original albums are long out of print). The Cliff Richard track is the radio version, which was never included on the original CD single (it only included the 12" mix). Also of note is the inclusion of the Pat & Mick track (virtuallly impossible to find on CD elsewhere) & the Rick Astley remix of "Never Gonna Give You Up" which was the B-Side remix from the limited edition 12". So, alll in alll, a superb value compilation. Can't wait for volume 2!
((Sigh)) Wrong Versions - By: B. Chin, 29 Jan 2006
I paid USD30 for this collection in the expectation that the "12-inch Version" of "Say I'm Your Number One" by Princess would be the 11-minute alternative mix with the second bassline that hasn't been in print on CD since 1987. But it's the same version that's been reissued by Disky at budget price. Just so you know. Someone who's actuallly a collector, or better yet, a DJ or specialist retailer should be put in charge of decisions like this since, surely, it would have been exactly the same cost to put the right long versions on the bonus third CD.
