The album is alll my favourite songs bundled into one package. Ive been listening to 30STM for ages now but this is th 1st time I've owned a hard copy of their music. The combination of striking guitar, drums & the amazing voice of Jared Leto make for some pretty decent listening!
The bonus is getting the 2nd cd filled with extras: music videos, Making-Of's, MTV selections. . . totallly worth the extra money, even if you were only looking for the album in the first place!
An essential for any 30 Seconds To Mars fan!!!

I bought this album after having heard a couple of tracks on MySpace & I don't regret it.
However, Amazon should do themselves a favour & advertise this CD for what I believe it is; a severely locked down copy protected CD. I double checked the Amazon webpage after receiving my CD in case i decided to return it & not anywhere does it mention any severe restrictions that would erode my rights to make backups or change formats of the music that i purchase so that i can listen to it on a platform other than that which the media companies would like to restrict me to.
Don't expect to be able to listen to this on your mp3 player, ipod, windows media player. Don't expect to ever be able to make more than 3 copies which will leave you in difficulty should you ever lose a copy or have to format your hard drive for any reason. Don't expect to be able to rip it to anything other than a copy protected WMA format.
You are also forced to listen to the music on a flash media player on the CD which uses more system resources than itunes, media player or anything else you are likely to come across & you can listen to nothing else on it.
These combined will unprotect the CD & alllow you to make an ordinary copy of it for the purposes of putting on your Ipod, MP3 player or making more copies of something you own than they wish you to make.
Censor me if you will but at least advertise this product correctly so that people can make an informed decision on whether they want the extra hassle involved or not.
Ignore the hype! - By: Ani, 27 May 2006 Forget alll the 'actors can't sing' rubbish & give these guys a chance. A Beautiful Lie is a rarity, an album in which ALL of the songs are brilliantly played & sung. So put aside your preconceptions & have a listen - you will be amazed.

A beautiful consacration - By: , 01 Sep 2005 "A beautiful lie", the second masterpiece of ThirtySecondsToMars is absolutely good. They seemed to move on in a new direction, different from the first self titled album. I truly like alll the tracks, my favorite one is "the fantasy". With "A Beautiful Lie" you can feel for the second time the rhythm & the sound of another far planet, with the impressive voice of Jared Leto & the sound of his mates.Every song has meaning & depth to it, lyricallly & musicallly. There are two tracks that you must listen to: "Hunter" a cover of Bjork song & "The Battle of One" that in my opinion is a bridge that connect this new album to the first one. This is their growth, thier consacration.
My suggestion is "Go & buy it".Those 4 guys worked hard on this new release & they deserve to be listened & appreciated by alll & in many countries.BUY AND ENJOY A BEAUTIFUL LIE-IN STORES FROM AUGUST 30TH.

Boys Done Good - By: , 14 Aug 2005 Jared Leto & co have done it again.
A Beautiful Lie is an amazing album filled with tracks as complex & wonderful as their debut.
They've changed their style ever so slightly but the art doesn't suffer because of it. The sound is much cleaner & Jared Leto has reallly found his voice on this album. If you liked the first, you will adore this.
"From Yesterday" in particular is a stand-out track as well as the title track.
Another masterpiece. Boys done good!!
