Fabulous - By: Eve, 29 Jun 2008
I love this CD & my daughter loves it too! I play it every evening as part of the bedtime routine. The music is wonderful(in my opinion).
My lifesaver! - By: M. Gamble, 26 Jun 2008
This is a truly wonderful collection of peacefully sung well known songs. We stuggled to get our daughter into a night time routine as a baby (don't most first time parents!) and, based on reviews, chose this CD to give us some help. Now, nearly two, our daughter still goes to sleep listening to Sophie Barker's soothing melodies. She has even been known to quietly sing along to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star before heading for the land of nod! It has also proved a life saver when routines have been disturbed (teething, late nights, travelling, temperatures - we've alll been there!) A short cuddle & a few of these lullabies always seems to soothe & calm our daughter back to sleep. A worthy buy!
Beautifully soothing. - By: G. Payne, 21 Jun 2008
This album is simply beautiful. The musical arrangements are gentle & subtle, which prevents the album from being twee & irritating, & Sophie Barker's voice is naturallly soft. I've re-discovered nursery rhymes & my 5 month old seems to enjoy the album, even following along with the lyrics in the CD sleeve.
Disappointing. - By: Music lover., 11 Jun 2008
I expected something wonderful, given the title & the glowing reviews, but I was very disappointed. It certainly did not live up to expectations.
It was very annoying to have spoken rhymes interspersed with the songs, & the voice speaking the verses was kind of irritating to listen to, & the musical renditions & vocals doing the songs were not alll that I thought they would be either. There are far, far better lullaby CDs out there than this one. One of the best is "Lullaby Baby. Soothing Vocal Lullabies" this is a Fisher Price album, & even though not sold as a lullaby album, the debut from Scarlett Johansson would be a 'different' kind of lullaby album to use, as her voice is so refreshingly different to most female singers, in that it is lovely & mellow & deep in a very relaxing way, whereas far too many female singers voices are too high & sharp & shrill, (Susie Talllman being a case in point) & especiallly with lullaby music, one wants a gentle sounding, much deeper voice, than a high-pitched sharp one, & though the voice on this is not as bad as Susie Talllman's, it is not exactly wonderful either & the accompanying music is not much. So if you are looking for the best lullaby album, you need to look at more than this one.
Wonderful CD - By: D. Hart, 22 May 2008
This CD is just wonderful. It is extremely soothing & helped me to relax through those first sleepless months. My son is almost a year old now & I still enjoy listening to it & probably will do for years to come.
