Nice songs, shame about the production - By: D. M. Clarkson, 11 Nov 2007
This is a collection of reallly well crafted songs, in fact, 'All My Life' is one of my alll time favourite songs. The album has great vocals & guitar throughout but what on earth have they done with the drums & bass. Both sound as though they were recorded in a padded cell giving the impression that the drum kit was cobbled together on a budget of less that $100. In my dreams this album was produced by Jimmy Page with Flea on bass & John Bonham on drums. 'One by One' could have been a classic.
Copy Protection? - By: Jon1001, 13 Sep 2007
After reading the review about this being a copy protected disc, I wasn't sure whether to buy this album or the original version as I listen to a lot of my music on my mp3 player. I took the risk anyway as others had not mentioned it & am glad I did. Although the disc does say that it is copy protected, I had no trouble playing & ripping it to my pc using media player. It is a brilliant album & also includes a bonus disc which has some reallly good tracks on too. Do not miss out on this great bargain.
Do Not buy this version if you only have a PC - By: Mr. John M. Ealey, 01 Sep 2007
was looking forward to this & the additional disk & having installled the software to play the 2nd disk (against my better judgement, hate installling plug in's )on a win xp SP2 machine, the 2nd disk plays at 128Kbps ( compressed) & the 1st, the main disk, will not play at alll. I have tried a number of different software players to no avail & alll lock the machine up. I have asked Amazon to add "enhanced / Copy protected to the despcription" so as to avoid any further confusion.
Pick a different version of One by One if alll you have to play it on is a PC. I could have bought this as a compressed file from i-Tunes but wanted to get the uncompressed original, so much for trying the quality angle !!
GREAT - By: Mr. D. M. Dunnett, 28 May 2007
This is my favourite Foo fighter album. Its great except i agree with the other review in that the 2nd half is a bit dull. However Lonely as You is my Favourite on here as wel as Low & Have it All. Overalll this is a great modern rock album!
Foo's Best - By: Knut D. Svendsen, 27 Feb 2007
Reallly enjoyed how the band sounds heavier & more aggressive than on earlier albums. This is also reflected in the album's lyrics that are darker & more serious than before. The DVD is also cool & features the video for the first single off the album.
