A 'killer ' of a C.D!- By: , 26 Mar 2006 Mint condition this cd arrived in which is appropriate reallly as that is what it is "MINT".The title track is a 'killer' of a tune, which thunders along with a piano led riff that is infectious. The two other tracks ( Suzy Lee & Stop breaking down ) are available on the self titled debut album, but none the less, are two more blues based corkers. Meg & Jack sing the blues, which takes the listener head on into Detroit! Brilliant & Breathtaking!!!!!Can they do no wrong?- By: , 15 Sep 2002 Only the third single to be pulled from the White Blood Cells album, & it's another cracker. Though not one of their more radio-friendly moments, Dead Leaves... is another reminder of Jack White's impressive songwriting ability. It'll probably be the only Top 30 hit this year to namecheck the Holy Ghost too. As the album has sold so well already (at least in relative terms), the real inducement to purchase here comes from the two B-Sides, both recordings from the soon-to-be-axed Evening Session. Suzy Lee is a song originallly featured on their debut LP, but the better of the two is Stop Breaking Down, a memsmerising version of Robert Johnson's old blues song. How many of the band's supposed peers even know who Robert Johnson was, let alone how to make his songs sound this relevant? In fact, the only aspect of the whole package that can be faulted is that there's no video on the CD this time - that's been put onto a separate DVD single, unfortunately for those of us without DVD players.
