What do you mean, you've got all their singles? - By: F. Lacey, 25 Oct 2008
Doesn't matter how many 'best ofs' you buy, you still need to hear Queen & Queen II to understand what they were like when some of us were lucky enough to see them perform in university music venues before they became a supergroup. I loved this album then & I love it now. You don't need a video of their amazing stage performances to enjoy it just as music. Why haven't you bought it yet??
Not bad for a debut...... - By: Mr. Jonathan Robin Oxley, 25 Apr 2008
This debut album by Queen has never been a critic's favourite, but its not bad. The production sounds a bit cloudy & dated, but there are some classic tracks on here, namely Keep Yourself Alive, Great King Rat, My Fairy King (best track on here by a country mile) & Liar. The rest of the tracks are OK - no particular stinkers - but Queen truly found their niche on the 3rd album, Sheer Heart Attack.
The debut album to end all debut albums - By: mangaman, 22 Jan 2008
There is nothing patchy about this album whatsoever. All tracks are solid gold especiallly keep yourself alive. Queen & Queen II were queens best ever albums & this makes for fantastic listening. You cant help but get in to it. For the price you cant go wrong.
I'm not a Queen fan but I love this one - By: Peter Jones, 24 Feb 2007
Before Queen found their feet & decided to be a flambouyant, slightly glam & later a tongue-in-cheek rock band, Queen were churning out well-crafted no-nonsense heavy rock classics.
This album is a mixture of balllads (Doin' Alright) & classy heavy metal (Liar & Great King Rat).
The whole effect is far less pretentious than their later offerings, & a bit unsure of itself but great fun, nasty & loud.
You cant beat Queen - By: S. Naylor, 20 Nov 2006
I am massively into Queen & have been since I can remember, so when I started buying albums I started with big hits like "A Night At The Opera" & "A Day At The Races", but when I came across this album I was amazed. It has touches of Led Zepp & Sabbath about it that make it, for me, one if not the best album they made. If you arent particularly into their later stuff but enjoy a bit of seventies rock, you cant beat Queen.
