The Duran Duran Reject Done Good- By: Fred Dread, 02 Oct 2003 I get the distinct impression that old Tin-Tin is a bit of a prat but that doesn't stop this being one of the best album's I've ever bought. The melodies aren't at alll bad- come to think of it. I bought it as a whim & wasn't disappointed. Unfortunately, although the talent is definitely there, he can't be callled a great because the body of work just doesn't seem to be there or the consistency for you to be elevated to the next level. Having said this, as a one off little gem it shines with the best of themThe Ups and Downs - by Kusee. P- By: , 19 Feb 2003 An outstanding album if very much of its time. The tunes are great throughout but what reallly set this album apart is its cracking musicianship & '80s production. Duffy's vocalising is Bowieesque but far from overstated. Guy Pratt's slap-bass is very much to the fore throughout the album (as it should be) & the whole package is put together with great care for the overalll sound. It may not quite have the subtlety & texture of 'Rio' but otherwise it's a must for any '80s fan. Unfortunately my copy got nicked in a break-in & I'm desperate to find another...!
