It's Phil!!! - By: Mr. P. V. Newns, 26 Feb 2008
It seems to have become a sin to like Phil Collins. I have always liked his music. From alll the Genesis stuff to his solo stuff. It is not alll by any means great but he has had some excellent moments. This album being one of the highest points. My dad used to play this in the car when it was first released (my first taste of Collins) just realised I must have been 11 then (30 now!). Still listen to it occasionallly for a sing along. If you have never owned any of his albums give it a try.
MOR Here We Are - By: M. Jellis, 20 Oct 2007
Oh dear. Phil is concerned with seriousness. Well 'Another day in Paradise' is a worthy effort but its the same old formulaic sound. Musical magnolia of the sort Dido & the like would be 'proud' of.
.......But Seriously This Is A Work Of Art!! - By: ADs, 22 Jun 2007
This album from 1989 was number 1 in the UK for a total of 15 weeks (Just thought i'll tell you that!) This is a pure work of art from start to finish & each track is a real gem! A must buy!
but seriously superb - By: D. A. G. Mcpheat, 16 Sep 2006
I had this for christmas in 1989 on cassette & this year bought it as part of the triple box set.
But Seriously is in my opinion the best original album ever, you can listen to this start to finish with no tracks being weak. Although the more well known ones like Another Day In Paradise, Something Happened on the Way to Heaven & Wish It Would Rain Down are reallly good, I love alot of the lesser known ones. Heat On The Street is probably my favourite, but Father to Son leading onto Find A Way to My Heart works perfectly, as both are from the heart & amazing songs. Do you remember is a brilliant track itself & probably didn't get the chart success due to the normal fact of previous releases being so good, that most people wait for the album release. Colours has a great build up & when the tune changes, I agree that I don't know of anyone who doesn't tap their feet to this one, a real gem.
Even the other tracks like the short but sweet intsrumental Saturday Night, Sunday Morning & All of my Life are reallly catchy tunes.
One of the best by one of the absolute best.
its good - By: , 15 Jul 2004
this is probably the best out of 4 albums he did before he lost his desire & started to do it "because he had to" i think he did his best stuff for virgin.
