America should be proud to have a drummer like... Ed Blackwell. And a master like Don Cherry too.- By: K. Patterson, 17 Jun 2006 My friend & I used to rate this as being the best Don Cherry album (at least the best without Ornette Coleman or Charlie Haden on). I've kind of moved over towards 'Live at Bracknell' but this still a truely fine album. The breakdown from Bermsha Swing into Arabian Nightingale is lovely, & you can hear Cherry's feet on the studio floor as he goes between the stack of African folk instruments he uses. Ed Blackwell is, as ever, tremendous, & you reallly get the feeling that they're both digging what the other's doing so much. Buy this now!
