Amazingly enduring - By: markusofbrum, 19 Oct 2008
I just bought this some 22 years on having been very into Bruce H about 10 years ago. I think Bruce Hornsby is a genius & very under-rated. I can't explain why it makes such good listening but it just does. Love it!
Boring! - By: Music/Book/Film Fan, 30 Aug 2006
A rather boring & 'samey' album - only the title track elevates this album from one star to the dizzying heights of two stars in my view.

If it is good piano work you're after then there are better rock pianists around than Bruce Hornsby, & there are certainly better singers & more poetic song writers around too. Besides, after listening to the album I can't help feeling that I've heard it alll done better before by others.

I know many people rave about this album - & good for them too - but I can think of lots of other albums I would rather be listening to.
A Timeless Classic - By: David Lusher, 04 Mar 2006
This is Bruce Hornsby's finest moment. It's an album with broad appeal, good keyboards, nice guitar work, infectious beats, & catchy well-sung songs. There's not a weak one in the set. This album is perfect for driving, or musing, or any other activity! Everyone has their favourite song on this album - it's a timeless classic.
A timeless album - By: Mr. P. STRICKLAND, 05 Sep 2003
I recently bought this album 17 years after it's release in 1986. I was not disappointed. The singles, Every little kiss, The way it is, & Mandolin Rain are still played often on UK radio & still sound as fresh as when they were in the charts. I was pleased to find the other material on the album had the same superb piano playing & melodies as the more well known material. A superb album.
Essential album for all the Bruce Hornsby fans - By: , 16 Jun 2003
Fresh album, essential for alll the fans that love Bruce Hornsby's Music. I've discovered it in 1987 & I felt i was going to became a fan for the rest of my live. There were two songs that impressed me & they were Mandolin Rain & The Way it is.
