UN CLASICO DEL ROCK!! - By: C. Bellegarrigue, 01 Mar 2008
BUY IT!!!!!
Supertramp's unabridged autobiography - By: Touring Mars, 24 Jan 2004
Basicallly the same as "The Autobiography of Supertramp", there are two major differences. The first is the inclusion of 'School' (from 1974's 'Crime Of The Century'), & the other is that 'Goodbye Stranger' & 'The Logical Song' are here in there complete forms rather than in shortened form, which is a real improvement.

This is reallly essential Supertramp, since 'The Very Best of...Vol. 2' is almost by definition a misnomer. The 'very best' tracks are right here. As such, it's not a definitive retrospective. Infact, you'd be forgiven for thinking that 1974 was the first time Supertramp ever recorded anything, as there is nothing here from their first two albums. There are 5 of the 7 tracks that constitute the album 'Crime of the Century', rendering that album almost (but not completely) obsolete. Also, 1979's 'Breakfast In America' is well covered here, with 4 songs. The best two tracks from 'Even In The Quietest Moments' are here too, & that's nearly it. The later albums of 'Famous Last Words' & 'Brother, Where You Bound' (minus Hodgson by this stage) are scarcely touched upon, as is 'Crisis? What Crisis?', which is largely overlooked. All in alll though, this compilation is a great way to get to know & love Supertramp. On the strength of the singles alone ('Logical Song', 'Breakfast in America', 'Dreamer' & 'Give A Little Bit'), it's worth the cover charge. But the inclusion of some reallly big hitting album tracks, like the stunning 'Hide In Your Shell' (from 'Crime..') & 'From Now On' (from 'Even In The Quietest Moments') encourage you to explore the Supertramp back catalogue in more depth. Possibly with the exception of 'Cannonballl', there isn't a bad song on the album, & there is plenty to get your teeth into.

A Supertramp Fan /Music Lovers Must !! - By: Kevin van Soest, 20 Jul 2002
If you have no Supertramp cds this is a crime on it's own,but even if you have a few of their albums & you thought you were covered think again. This compilation is without a doubt the cream of their totallly underrated career & is testimony to their innovation & high standard of recording & production.Supertramp falll into that exclusive club where high quality recordings & innovation(which the British do so well) stand talll above tied churned out rock songs which are soon forgotten.Digitallly remastered to enhance & bring out the best of their top work, this album should be listened to at high volumes.Every self respecting rock lover should have this album.
