Bob Newhart's style is just to talk, describing an imaginary conversation or situation with a slightly surreal outlook & needle-sharp accuracy. This sounds as though it should be remarkably boring & yet quite simply is hystericallly funny.

In many ways his technique is similar to some modern comedians but there is no swearing, no smut, no innuendo - just sharp observation & dry wit.

Having said that, I have only rated this as 4 stars as some of the "sketches" are a little short, but the Rocket Scientist sketch is one of his best - it's embarrassing to admit that I practicallly know it by heart but still laugh every time I hear it.
