I first heard this album in the summer of 1998, whilst studying music in Newcastle. It hit me that what I was listening to was possibly the greatest music I had ever heard. Moody, yet desperately emotional it portrays a feeling of deep anger, with Frisells harsh tone & unique voicings peicing the ears of even the most hardened listener - not with volume but frequency. Keltner provides superb backing on drums, using a variety of cross rhythms & out of time single stickings to keep to music rolling along.

This album made me want to buy & listen to more, which I did, & I'm sure anybody with a remote sign of intelligence (even musicians) would agree. Superb.
