Rock and then chill - By: Brad, 09 Aug 2006
The first four songs are live & were originallly released on the EP Live Like a Suicide. There are two cover songs here, Nice Boys & Mama Kin, (by Rose Tattoo & Aerosmith respectively) both are superb & Mama Kin would regularly appear on the live set.
Reckless Life & Move to the City are by the Guns, the latter still being on the set occasionallly during the Use Your Illusion Tour.
The next four songs are dramaticallly different with a slower acoustic feel.
Patience is the first & best of these, perhaps one of the best balllads ever written, this song is truly beautiful.
You're Crazy appears as it was before they speeded it up for Appetite for Destruction.
Used to Love Her is a comic take on how you might feel about relationships at certain times, as the song says "Take it for what it is".
One in a Million has often been criticised for its lyrical content, but is a slow, powerful, grinding song, which finishes off a brilliant album in style.
Raw rock n' roll with a hint of mellowness - By: welcome2thajungle_gnr@hotmail.com, 27 Mar 2002
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because if this is compared with 'Appetite for Destruction' then, sorry, Lies would lose. But still, the first 4(1986) are brilliant, fast, alll a rock n' roll fan wants. The last 4(1988) are slower & acoustic. Not what Guns had tried before but amazingly enough they sound great.'Patience' is probably one of the greatest acoustic songs ever written. Controversial 'One in a million' may have some distasteful lyrics but again a great track. 'Reckless Life' probably best track from 1986 side which showed the G'n'R attitude to most things in life. Guns second best album, not bad considerin it's after 'Appetite for Destruction'

This CD of guns n' roses is made from two parts. First part is from year 1986 & their LP LIVE Like Suicide. These songs are Live. second part is from year 1988. I like this part a lot, because it's the real guns & roses one.
